Stay in, avoid the drunk drivers, have some cocktails with Hub in your new home...
Maybe visit close new neighbors, or invite them over.

If you go out, do it early and get home early, imo.

If you're looking for a formal party, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue hosts a "Fur Ball" benefit each year and I hear it's a lot of fun. (We never manage to get a babysitter for that night so I haven't been myself, but I have several friends who go and rave about it.) This year the theme is White Tie and Tails. Good food, good music, good cause.

Rent a movie, have a couple drinks, dinner and " dessert ", snuggle on the couch with your mate and go to bed at 11:45pm. Our routine for years .... and my New Years resolution is to have the opportunity to do it again next year.
