Did anyone else feel the South Carolina earthquake a couple of nights ago? My house trembled a bit for a few seconds. It was surprising to have felt it from so far away.

Many in the Upstate felt it (including myself) - it was my first earthquake experience - heard a low hum/rumble, then the whole vibrated - lasted 10+ seconds - see the USGS site for specifics - click on the green DYFI tab ("Did you feel it") at the top - numerous reports from Asheville/Hickory/Charlotte

My wife felt it ... And called me upstairs. I didn't doubt her, though I, myself, didn't perceive it. I was wondering if I'd hear about it on the web. Thanks, OP, for confirming this event.

I felt it in Asheville, that was on Valentines day. I remember it because I prayed for someone to rock my world that day. God does work in mysterious ways...

Didn't feel it, but our dogs went nuts about 15 - 20 minutes before it happened. Other friends with dogs reported their dogs did also.

I remember an earthquake in 2006 with a 3.1 mag. It happened near midnight. It sounded like an 19 wheeler dropped in my cul-de-sac. At first I thought it was a gas line explosion. But after listening to some weather reports, it was an earthquake with the epicenter in eastern TN. Since I have lived in this sub-division in North Asheville, there have been at least 3 that my .5 and I have felt and heard. We have been fortunate that we did not suffer any serious damage.
