Default moving to the asheville area

I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and am interested in possibly moving to the
Asheville area. I am hoping someone can help me locate a really cool neighborhood with kind of a funky, artsy feel to it, similar to the Spanish Town
and Garden District areas in Baton Rouge.

Asheville is an awesome town, but expensive. If this could be an issue, the suburbs around Asheville are more affordable. Depends on what you can spend. Asheville's a great area. I live in the Charlotte area and love it here. I don't plan on ever leaving. But if I was going to live in another area, it would be Asheville. Great choice! Good luck in your search!!

Downtown Asheville is artsy and funky, but not especially affordable. Expensive condos for the most part, and semi-affordable apartments. The area around the river near downtown is artsy too, but not a great neighborhood to live in. I guess you need to be more explicit on what you are looking to do, rent or buy, what kind of job you're looking for, etc. This is a great place to live, but not a great place to find a decent job. Things to consider, anyway.
