Default Changing Schools

Hello all,
As some of you already know, my husband has just accepted a job offer in Asheville! We will be moving in the next two weeks and are currently trying to rent a house and pack and, and, and.........

My question is to those of you who have made a move to the area in the middle of the school year. Our local district finishes the 9 weeks on Jan. 15th. We will be moved by then or around then. How does that work with my High Schooler? Do I ask that her exams be given earlier? Do I wait until this 9 weeks is finished or go ahead and pull her before exams? What happens to her current grades if we move before the end of the 9 weeks? This is the part that drives a mother insane. Can't call the districts because of the holidays!

Any help would be appreciated. We are so excited about the move but this morning, reality.
