We most likely will be getting transferred to the Fletcher/Asheville area this summer and we were wondering if there are any subdivisions in that area without HOA's. We have four small dogs and we were shocked to see the restrictions on only having two dogs! Every house we were interested in has this restriction. We are interested in newer houses in the range of $200,000-$300,000. We live in a nice neighborhood now with no problems at all with our dogs. They are always inside and we always bring them in immediately if they start barking outside. We can't believe we basically are not "allowed" to live there because we have four dogs. We would prefer no HOA at all but it seems that is what is most common in this area. Does anyone know of any subdivisions or houses in that price range with no restrictions on how many animals? Are there certain areas or towns without restrictions that we should be looking at? We have two small children so schools are also an important factor.

Have you looked into Southchase, or Oak Park? They are both off of Hendersonville Rd and have newer homes. Both are in your price range. Just don't know about the HOA status, though I looked into Oak Park and don't remember there being one at all.
Four is a lot of dogs! |
