N1 – Service ends with 8pm-9pm trip on Friday & Saturday, Nov.28-29th. When UNC Asheville is in session, N1 operates on Thursday – Saturday with a last outbound at midnight.

  S2 will depart the Transit Station at :15 minutes past
  the hour, thus arrival times at each bus stop will
  change. On Sat. S2 will now start at 8:15 am.

  Arrival time at each bus stop will change. On Sat. the
  route won’t start until 6:00 am from the Airport. S3 on
  Sundays & Holidays will start at the Airport at 7:38 am
  and end at the Airport at 6:00 pm.
• S4 S. French Broad • Depot • Livingston Heights

  Arrival time at each bus stop will change. S4 will
  depart on the hour.
• E1 Tunnel • Asheville Mall • South Tunnel
  Swannanoa River • VA
  Minor arrival time adjustments between Downtown and
  the Asheville Mall.
• E2 Tunnel • Asheville Mall • Haw Creek
  US 70 Hwy to Porters Cove
  Arrival time at each bus stop will change. The 6:15 am
  trip on Mon. – Fri. will arrive early in order to improve
  transfers at the Station. E2 on Sundays & Holidays will
  depart at :30 past the hour.

W1, W2 & S4 Detours

ASHEVILLE – The City of Asheville’s ART (Asheville Redefines Transit) service will implement the following detours:

1) S4, W1 and W2 (outbound and inbound) will detour starting Monday, December 01, 2014 off Hilliard Ave. (between Coxe Ave. and Clingman Ave.) Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, until construction is complete. W1 & W2 will operate on Patton Ave., between the Station and Clingman Ave. and will serve bus-stops on Patton Ave. The routes will operate as posted on the schedules, except the following stops are be closed during construction:

a) Coxe Ave. @ Hilliard Ave.

b) Hilliard Ave. @ Grove St.

c) Hilliard Ave. @ South French Broad Ave. (both outbound & inbound)

d) South French Broad Ave. @ Hilliard Ave. (both outbound & inbound)

ASHEVILLE – The City of Asheville’s ART (Asheville Redefines Transit) service will implement the following detours:

1) N1 and N2 on Saturday, Saturday, December 6th from 11am – 12:30pm due to an event on campus. N1 and N2 will not serve any bus-stops on Campus. The closest bus-stop being served at this time will be on WT Weaver at Barnard Ave.

Beginning January 4, Asheville Redefines Transit will;
1. Provide bus service on Sundays, significantly expanding availability and access to riders in Asheville. Sunday’s routes and schedules will resemble the system’s holiday service launched in 2013, with most routes operating between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
2. Improve access to the Emma and Oakley sections of Asheville, with the new S5 and W5 routes,
3. Discontinue the C-route.
4. Make minor changes to the schedules of N, N1, N2, S1, S2, S3, S4, E1, E2 and 170.

City staff and Transit Committee members will be providing information about the service changes directly to riders at the ART Station during the week of December 15-19, feel free to stop by and ask questions. They will be distributing handbills and talking to riders at the following times:

Monday, December 15th: 7:00am-9:30am & 4:00pm-6:00pm
Wednesday, December 17th: 7:00am-9:30am & 4:00pm-6:00pm
Friday, December 19th: 7:00am-9:30am & 4:00pm-6:00pm

NextBus alerts will notify you of any detours, delays or closings due to winter weather, traffic or construction. If you currently rely on an email from iride {at} ashevillenc.gov for ART weather changes, please sign up for the Nextbus alerts (create an account by clicking on MyNextbus), as these can be received via text or/and email. Additionally, ART is going to start relying on the Nextbus notification system to inform riders of weather delays/detours rather than using the iride {at} ashevillenc.gov email.

1) S4, W1 and W2 (outbound and inbound) will detour starting off Hilliard Ave. (between Coxe Ave. and Clingman Ave.) Saturday, December 13, 2014 10am - 7pm and Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, until construction is complete. N1 seasonal service change

N1’s last evening trip will be leaving the ART Station at 8:00 pm, starting on December 18th through January 14th 2015, with UNC Asheville going on winter break. Starting January 15th, 2015 the night N1 service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will operate again until UNC Asheville’s spring break.
