Default It's snowing in Hendersonville!!!

I know! I know! It's snowing in lots of places right now. But we're not in lots of places. We're right here in WNC, in Hendersonville, and it's SNOWING enough to make a snowball while dancing outside in the night in our favorite pajamas! (We did! We even took pictures!)

We're ecstatic! We haven't seen snow at all in two years, and then only in Sequoia National Forest. Before that, we hadn't seen significant snow in... like... decades! We haven't seen snow falling like a soft heavy blanket outside OUR HOUSE... actually... EVER!!!

EVER!!! What a long time, EVER!!!

NO WONDER I CAN'T SLEEP (again)!!!

IT'S SNOWING! IT'S SNOWING!!!

AHHHHHHHH ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.....

Hey Parkies!

In my case, I'd like to move there to get out of seeing so much snow. The ground has been white here since the first week of December. Supposed to get 4"-6" more tonight and the high on Saturday is going to be somewhere around -5......why do I live here again???? Oh yeah, I remember, I'm not old enough to quit that whole work thing yet.

I think I'll still be excited to see the first snow from my house in the peaceful mountains of WNC if we ever get there. But, I'll just be more excited hiking in the mild summers, long springs, and gorgeous falls.

Enjoy!

I know! I'm nuts! I just took a HIKE in the snow. I TASTED the snow. I SANG in the snow. I WALKED in the snow. And I saw TRACKS in the snow. And I wondered what they were. Not bear... not deer... WHAT?? It's two little paw prints in a diagonal shape and below them another set of two little paw prints also in a diagonal shape. WHAT'S THAT??? I'm dying to know which creature I walked out there with tonight......

OH PLEASE don't anyone wake me in the morning! I want to die right here where I am... found frozen in that beautiful SNOW....!!

JAN

Jan and Bill,
We got a bunch over here in Haywood County, too. It is just beautiful. I am at home... I brought work home and this is my much earned break.

I filled up my feeders last night and they are mobbed by birds (as they usually are, especially during a snow). It is just beautiful.

I like it just as it is right now ... quiet and still. In about an hour or so, I won't like it anymore, as I am driving to work, but for now... BEAUTIFUL and WONDERFUL!

Jan - Probably raccoon tracks - I am so happy for you - Enjoy it while it lasts - that's the good thing about WNC - the snow doesn't last for 5 months like Researching knows - in the Midwest we have snow for months on end (at least it covers up the brown yuck of winter! Check out high country web cams to see the Hendersonville snow. For goodness sake - get some sleep

It was just beautiful to wake up to this morning!
We have only been here a week today and have had a tough time with the kids adjusting to new schools. This morning's snow day seemed to ease all the pain of missing Florida for them. Dancing, throwing snow balls, great fun!

Sure was funny watching my husband try to get up the driveway on the way to his first day of work. Nothing like being 45 minutes late on your first day!

LOL. How wonderful! I have seen lots of snow on my day but the joy for you seems palpable. I do enjoy watching it fall (something I have not seen for over 27 years) but I hated shoveling it, cleaning up after it, when it gets brown and dirty, etc.

But there isn't anything quite like big white flakes falling from the sky and a newly blanketed lawn...

Default ""IF"" you believe the forecasters????

A major disaster is about to happen in Hendersonville!!!

Yes!!! We've had the 4-5" of snow, and NOW it's drizzling/lite rain...

The snow is sopping up the rain, and turning it into crusted slush!!!

The weather forecast is for the temps to drop into the teens...

""ALL"" that slush is going to turn to "ICE"....4-5" worth....

YOU WON'T BE DANCING FOR JOY, IF THAT HAPPENS...

Pay to the god's of your choice, that it warms up some
