Default Moving...but don't know where yet!

Hi everyone...I'm hoping for some anonymous advice. My girlfriend teaches at Rabun Gap in GA just across the Western Carolina border and I desperately want to move to the area both for her AND the ridiculous outdoor opportunities!...Problem is the usual:job and place...I'm an ex-Nuclear Navy Sub guy whose still working on his bachelors degree in Chemistry currently working at a local pizza place. Been trying to look for work in the area online and it's quite hit-or-miss (though Sylva and Waynesboro seem to be severely lacking in health pros)...I'm thinking of getting my RN with what I have left of my GI Bill, but I need a place and employment for a year to afford that (y'know, that whole residency requirement stuff...out-of-state tuition at Southwestern CC is 5x as much as it is iin-state!). Willing to just wait tables and such, but I was wondering if there's any unskilled (or skilled) labor positions which may pay better?...Plus, Sylva or Cullowhee?...Or should I just suck it up, move to Asheville and do the hour and half commute to see my girlfriend?...thanks for any advice...Dazed and Confused in Norfolk, VA
