Go up onto the Blue Ridge Parkway, you'll find plenty of spots. The higher the better.

For raspberries, look for them along the sides of local streams. If you prefer a park like setting try the Little Tennessee Greenway in Franklin above the bridge, there's tons of them

If you pick from BRP, please leave some for the animals.

Thanks very much. I had no idea that you could pick from the BRP...being new to the area, it didn't even dawn on me.

Are there both high bush and low bush???

How far in does one have to go?

Should we just stop at a parking area?

You are much better off and safer to go to one of the U-Pick farms that Susie mentioned above. You don't want to compete for blueberries with the bears.

I'm partial to strawberries.

Does anyone know if these fruits can be grown in Ashevile in one's yard?
Or is it too low of an elevation or hot?
I am from out west so I have no idea. Thanks!

My friend is growing strawberrys, tomatoes, and all kinds of herbs in her back yard in Asheville.
