Don't ever live in Leicester....one of the worst school districts in the state...year after year after year. Filling in at pharmacies over there is always a wonderful experience. If you want to see some inbred folk....there are 2 families that routinely come in that well.....would give the Deliverance crowd a run for their money.

The only thing of note in Woodfin is.....well....hmm.......there must be something. There is a nasty old prison from decades ago that's an eye soar (I believe that's in the town limits)....and the wonderful dumps close by. There is a place that makes great carrot cake that might have a Woodfin address....the city lines get a little strange over there.

Arden is a decent area..... Lots of new construction and new money. A little more modern then much of the area if that is your taste. Fairview has some of the best public schools in the area.

I don't live in Asheville but visit frequently and we like it. There is alot to do,hiking, biking, skiing, ample mountain streams for water sports. Friendly people, but I don't know how they are to outsiders. Asheville is not a huge city but big enough to find lots to do. We live 1 hour east and are thinking of moving there also. Where we live they don't like outsiders. We spoke with a couple who has lived here for 25 years and are still considered outsiders. They even have ran a business for 19 years. Being a vet should be good also it's a huge dog lovers town and lots of animal farms outside of town. I hope I helped a little bit. Good luck with wherever you choose.

But this is not "Asheville", but just surrounding area, and would exist without the city. It is either what mother nature put here, state and federal park systems, or private enterprise (ski resorts, river rafting enterprises). And most of the recreation available isn't within 20 miles of the 'city'

.

well the cump moved like 6 miles up the road from the old location, don't think its even woodfin anymore.......But you did forget about the water treatment facility, smells wonderful if you like mixing cabbage and dirty diapers for aroma. LOL

I don't know much about the schools but aren't they a target schools system where you can choose the school or is that just in the city limits?? I do know you can choose to use charter schools.
