Hi, My husband and I are thinking of retiring to NC from PA. Don't really know much about the state. Daughter lives in Raleigh so we want to be closer to her......not to close though😊 Looking for Lakefront property any suggestions? Thank you

Lake Lure, Lake James, Lake Hickory, High Rock Lake, Badin Lake, Lake Tillery, Hyco Lake, and others. How close (or far) from Raleigh do you want to be? Mountains? Piedmont? Eastern NC?

Kerr Lake and Lake Gaston are on the east side of the state and not too far from Raleigh. Both lakes have presence in VA as well as NC. Both have easy access to I-85 and I-95

Also, Lake Norman, and Lake Wyllie.

(Lake Lure is fairly remote in the mountains.)

Lakes Norman, Wylie and Hickory are the most developed and closest to amenities.
