Default Millionaire's Mountain

Where is it? Back in the Stone Age, when I attended the first college I flunked out of, Western Carolina University, I remember visiting one of my college buddy's home. I THINK maybe it was near Robbinsville. I do remember that it was a pretty exclusive area, and the home, for all intents and purposes, was a mansion. My friend's father had passed away some time before my visit. I believe his name was R.K. Siller. Anyone familiar with this area?

LOL! Are you serious? Surely this was a nickname for some high-end development??

Imagine telling folks you meet that you live on Millionaire's Mountain--ha ha!--wonder how many friends you'd make--thanks for the laugh, dude!

(Hope you find it.)

Thanks for no help, friend. I don't think it beyond the realm of possibility that someone would be familiar with this "nickname". It may have been on a lake, but I'm not sure.

Anyone?

Oh, I agree with you! I'm sorry I can't help you, Kentuckydude--the name of the place just struck my funnybone, that's all. Honest.

Default Sillers

Siller is not a very common family name in Western NC. Only found two listings and those were in Franklin and Murphy. If you remember from your time as a Catamount, Franklin is not too far from Cullowhee and you could go through Robbinsville to get to Murphy. Maybe it would be worthwhile calling one of the "Siller" listings and asking.

There are some developments near Lake Toxaway and one of the marketing packages does refer to it as a "millionaire's mountain getaway."

Good luck!

Okay, for what it's worth, Kentuckydude, I did find an actual "Millionaire Mountain" in MONTANA. Have no idea if you've ever been there or if you might have been thinking of that when you wrote, maybe remembering something from your long-ago fuzzy past. I realize that Montana is a very long way from North Carolina, friend.

Anyway, here's the link I found to "Millionaire Mountain." It actually exists, folks!

Ok, I'm not sure if this is it, but maybe it was either Cashiers or Highlands NC. I believe both of these towns are like 3500 ft above sea level. I know that one of these 2 towns had alot of millionires living there, as could be evidenced by the Mercedes, Jaguars, and even Rolls Royce's parked on the street.

There was a nice little downtown area with small shops and outdoor cafes, it kinda reminded me of what Beverly Hills may look like.

I would definitely say it was one of these 2 towns.
