Can anyone recommend a snowplowing service that can handle a steep driveway in Banner Elk? Private messages are fine if recommendations aren't allowed on here. We have up to a 22% grade in one spot and it has proven challenging to find someone who can clear it!
There are a lot of private individuals who contract plow during the winter in addition to the Landscapers in the area. 22% is pretty steep, but I don't see any reason why a 4x4 truck with chains wouldn't be able to plow even the steepest drives, and that's exactly what I see some people doing during the heavy snows. Honestly, the marginal snows (Less than 6 inches or so) are the biggest problem for the guys who chain, because you can't run chains on wet pavement (for very long, anyway), and the constant chain/unchain is a bit impractical when you're plowing for money.
