I personally was not looking at this property for sale but a friend of mine was and they were totally taken aback per the price that's on it now, the sales history & tax info. etc. ( found at Zillow)
Anyone live in/around the Highlands area that can share some light on
20 chestnut hill drive Highlands NC ?
Mind boggling to us ...I told my friend that maybe they should not walk but RUN away from that one.
Perhaps there's a typo in the sales price, is it a haunted house or what ?

OK, that is a house that is now for sale at $295,000, when the 2014 list price was in the millions. Since there are several other similar 1750 square foot houses listed for about $290,000, you can assume the million dollar price was a mistake. I would assume that themilliion plus price is what the builder paid for the whole development of 20 or so lots. The million dollar sales history just got stuck on the one lot. There's nothing wrong with the house; it is just a standard developer house like the others.
ok, well I guess that makes sense..esp. since the LOT SIZE is stated at ~24 acres.
Just confusing as he/we also looked at the REMAX site per this property also and it states : " lot size TBD" but a couple other sites do state it as being ~24 acres.
I told him I've seen " lot size" badly misstated on Zillow ( 57 acres actually 5.7 etc.) but just could not help him figure this one out.
There was another point I can't explain. The purchase price of the development/lot was $3+ million, and the assessment was $10+ million. Are the county's assessment way out of line with reality, or is that another mistake? If I were seriously interested in a house in that development, I would seek clarification from the original records, not a source like Zillow.
Anyway, the house is a typical developer house, and it looks like it was worth $290K-295K. I'd certainly check the assessment and the taxes.

The listing probably has the address confused. According to Google maps, the place at 20 Chestnut Hill Drive is an assisted living home with 75 beds, and probably worth $10 million. The house for sale might be at 120 Chestnut Hill Drive. It might actually be a cottage assocatied with the assisted living home.

yeah, we saw something about the assisted living deal when searching some further
but just served to make it a bit more confusing.
Whatever...they need to get it right, don't they ?
I can understand the value of making a first pass at an area using an online resource, but this listing is so obviously screwed up. The square footage is listed as 59,983. Really???
If someone sees a listing online that might interest them, they should then go to the source... contact the listing agent... or have their own buyer's agent query the listing agent.
