I can't put into words how I feel about someone who gets a thrill from setting fires, but I hope the penalty is severe.

I hope more people are arrested soon, since these were only 2 small fires and most of the wildfires throughout WNC were caused by humans, according to authorities.

Fantastic!
What is the appropriate punishment for such person?
Mental institution?
Mandatory forest rehab community service?
X years in prison?
Well if they ever find the one who started the chimney tops fire and found it to be intentional they should be charged with murder.
Poor gatlinburg. I can't stop thinking about them and how it could have been any one of our mountain towns. The party rock fire was only ~15 miles from us. Chimney rock was 10-15 from the spots that got hit in gatlinburg.
There was a man arrested in Eastern Tennessee, but that was for 3 other fires earlier in November. I just can't imagine what goes through a person's mind before setting a wildfire that could possibly burn down houses and kill people and animals. To me this is tantamount to terrorism.

Saucy, I agree that this crime is just as serious as first degree murder. 13 fire-related deaths in Gatlinburg have already been reported.
Strange user name considering the topic, Pyro. Sorry, but I couldn't help noticing.
I think he has some connection to the fireworks industry based on earlier posts that I recall.
