We are thinking of taking an evening trip to Concord ? Good idea or wd u advise against?
Have you consulted a map?
This is best asked on the Charlotte board. 321 runs north/south from Hickory to Gastonia. It's 2 lanes north & 2 lanes south, with a grassy area separating them. It becomes York St & Chester St in Gastonia & goes south into York County, SC. Just inside the Gastonia city limits, if you get on I 85 north, it will take you eastbound to Charlotte. Concord is just beyond that. That is the best, easiest way to go. The alternative is I 40 to I 77 to I 85. I 77 has traffic issues. Please consult a map, as my instructions will not make sense as written without consulting a map.

You're welcome. I asked because I didn't know if you had looked at a map & saw 2 viable routes, but due to where Concord is, it didn't make sense to ask on this board.
321 intersects I 85 at exit 19. I think that Concord exits start around 45. If you use Mapquest or Google maps you can get the actual mileage. Only you can make a decision as to whether you want to make the trip. You just don't want to make the trip on I 77.
If you want to go to Concord for the outlet mall, there's one in Charlotte that would be closer for you. There's another in Gaffney, SC which would be the least traffic.
Well I'm trying to meet up with a cousin who lives in charlotte, but she was willing to meet us in Concord because there wd be less traffic it will be our first visit in the area so I want the best possible route I hate getting list in unfamiliar areas!
We are coming at the end of the month hoping to relocate to hickory we have been to greenville nc and to raleigh/ wake forest so it will be between greenville and the hickory area because raleigh seemed too congested for us

If your cousin lives in Charlotte, depending on which part she lives in, Gastonia or Belmont might be the better bet to meet up.
I assume that you've now looked at a map. Your cousin has you driving through Charlotte on the interstate to get to Concord.
