NewAdventure is on a distinguished road
Default Ashville, Family Relocation

Hello! I am a single Mom whom has relatives moving to the Ashville area. I have three middle school aged children and have a few questions. We currently live in Florida and are relatively happy but open to the idea to explore Ashville. Currently, we can not afford housing in our market. It has skyrocketed 150%. 50K homes are now 200K.
What we are looking for is excellent educations for the kids particularly Middle and HS. Do the colleges offer dual enrollment for HS students? Do the public schools in Ash/Buncombe and surrounding areas have good academic and social reputations? I'd love to hear from teachers about the student morale?
Are drugs/partying a serious problem? Are there opportunities available in a variety of different venues for educational, fun and inspirational settings? (Museums, env. ed, arts, sports, etc.?)
We are planning a trip this winter to visit. Any insight would be great, places to visit, neighborhoods, good school districts, fun stuff.
I've also heard this area is expensive and hard to find a job. I am currently able to be liscensed as a science teacher or a possible career in the environmental field.
Thanks for your insight and many blessings for a happy holiday season!!!!!
