The dogwoods in North Georgia have bloomed, but not opened fully yet. They are about two weeks earlier than usual.

Please weigh in and give me the blooming status of your dogwoods, and what town in WNC you are living in. Just curious if yours are early too.

I saw one very optimistic dogwood blooming in my friend's West Asheville yard just after Valentine's Day!

In February? You're sure it was a dogwood and not just a tree with white flowers?

Our neighbor's dpgwood is just barely beginning to bud... location is foot of Grandfather Mountain, near the Avery/Watauga county line... elevation is 3,800' +/-.

I find it amazing that all these dogwoods seem to be at the beginning of blooming at the same time.

Franklin is at a higher altitude than where I am. And obviously Grandfather Mountain is at a much higher altitude and further north than I am.
