When I lived in New York, I often dined at several Indian restaurants, and none served fish or shellfish. In Charlotte, however, the vast majority of non-vegetarian Indian restaurants prepare and serve fish, and since I have an allergy to fish/shellfish, I won't frequent the restaurants - and I miss my Indian food

Is there anyone with a similar allergy, who might know of an Indian buffet that doesn't serve fish/shellfish?

Thanks in advance

Are you asking about Asheville specifically? Within 30 miles of Asheville? Western NC goes from Murphy to Sparta (although there may not be indian restaurant outside of A'ville, lol).

NDL, You are allergic to shellfish/fish...I get that.
You are so allergic that being in a restaurant that has/serves shellfish is a problem?

The Net is your friend: TA has a list of 'vegetarian friendly Indian cuisine restaurants', though I am not familiar with any on that list, and no idea if they don't serve fish or keep the shellfish/fish wrapped up.

I have to remember to write with greater specificity, being that this forum encompasses a large area .

Any area(s) East or South of Asheville, including Asheville.

Thanks for the link David. Searching for restaurants that accommodate people with a fish/shellfish allergy can be a hit or miss.

In other words, I haven't had the same success searching for restaurants that accommodate my food sensitivities, as I have had with directories that selectively deal with other food sensitivities (e.g. people looking for gluten free restaurants).

Usually I'll start with a word of mouth referral, followed up with a call to the restaurant itself . I might have to do that in this case as well.

Appreciate you both looking out for me

Fortunately, there are several Indian restaurants I can avail myself of in the Raleigh area, next time I visit a museum, etc.
