Default mushrooms near boone

Would love to know what you want them for? (Just wondering if you are a French Chef or something!)

not a french chef, but i do love to cook, and morels are delicious! and they should be coming up about this time, as opposed to a lot of the other mushrooms that come later.

Well good luck, I understand they don't usually come up in the same area more than a year or two, so anyone looking is always have to find new places to look! I also think they like being in areas near rivers or some flowing water, so perhaps a day along the Virginia Creeper Trail by bike would lead you to some?

I'd be careful of harvesting anything off of Parkway land, it is a federal offense, and they take it quit serious. Once you venture only a short distance from the parkway itself you will likely find yourself on private land, or National Park land, neither of which might not cotton to your harvesting.
