My fiance' and I are planning to either elope or have a very small wedding (maybe 15-20 people) in Western North Carolina. We live in Concord, NC but have traveled to the mountains on several occasions to do some camping and hiking. We love the mountains. My question is, does anyone have wedding location sites in mind? We don't want anything thats going to cost us an arm and a leg. I was thinking maybe a bed and breakfast or a garden or park? Any recommendations would be great. Also, do you know if there is a bridal magazine that publishes in your area. We have one for Charlotte, but it doesn't do me much good. One last thing, even if you don't know of a site but you know of a vendor (bakery, photographer, officiant... ) I will greatly take them.
Thanks.
Erika

NO idea the rates, but Homewood is gorgeous and seems to be able to cater to small wedding ceremonies/receptions. They have a beautiful outdoor area for the ceremony. Surely they also have contacts with officiants.

Try looking at The Mast Farm Inn at Valle Crucis.
When we stayed there, I remember thinking that it would be a wonderful place to have a small wedding. They have a really sweet 'honeymoon cabin' too!

Here's one good source for you: Bridal Show and Wedding Expo in Greenville, Anderson, Spartanburg, South Carolina (SC), Asheville, North Carolina (NC) by Wedding Festivals (Asheville, Greenville, etc.).

Check out that site's "Reception Locations":
Wedding Reception Location in Greenville, Anderson, Spartanburg, South Carolina (SC), Asheville, North Carolina (NC)

Congratulations!

We live in Black Mountain and have seen many weddings taking place at our local, public park - Lake Tomahawk.

You may want to check out the "Weddings" section at the BlackMountain.org website. I've always admired the Inn on Mill Creek during our relaxing drives. I just checked and they also do weddings for up to 30 people (InnOnMillCreek.com).

Congratulations! As the daughter of a former wedding planner, I hope everything goes beautifully for you!

Hey, Erika! I can suggest a few vendors for you. For an amazing wedding photographer, I highly recommend Corey Cagle Photography. She is the absolute best! You can't go wrong with her. You can check her website out here: Wedding Photographer Asheville NC, Corey Cagle Photography,
For a cake decorator, I recommend Melissa James. She works out of her home in Brevard, NC and her work is fantastic! Her number is (828)877-3533.

Good luck with all your planning!

Pretty Place is a lovely, rustic outdoor church run by or just above the YMCA in Greenville near Ceasar's Head. For a reception you would need to go to another location as I wasn't aware of one. They offered changing rooms for the bride and groom and I also think you would need to bring your own minister.
