Hoping to get a place in WNC within the next 2-3 years and while looking I've seen a few places in both of these 55+ communities. It would be a vacation home for now with the possibility of us spending our summers and other time there once we retire. These are park models and most of them have add ons but I don't know if they would really be suitable for year round living but maybe someone could say how it is for them. We really want to be around Waynesville/Maggie Valley or possibly the Bryson City/Sylva area. Can anyone tell me how it is living or spending extended time in these communities? Or if you know of other mobile home/park model communities that might be interesting please share. After looking for awhile it doesn't look feasible for us to try to get a house so I'm focusing on mobile homes and park model 55+ communities. Thanks in advance for any help.

There is an old thread on Dogwood Lakes, from Search This Forum...

Dogwood Lakes, slim old thread with my 50Cts as last post in that thread:
http://www.city-data.com/forum/weste...ynesville.html

I had to Google Summer Place, though I thought I knew the ref, and it is where I thought.
If you Google SP you will see several pages of mobile homes for sale and a main ref/info page.

It is in Jonathon Creek area, on the northbound side of US 276, fairly tight/close to that divided highway, which leads to I-40. If one were close to US 276, I suspect there might be considerable traffic noise at some times of the day.

It is lower elevation, (valley), and surrounded by some high elevation mtns to north, east and south. Winters should be 'decent' due to lower elevation.

How is it, or Dogwood Lakes in terms of living there? No idea.
GL, mD
