We have had small ones. We have no major fault lines here, but we do occasionally have seismic activity.
Here is a link about earthquakes in NC. Hazard_geologic earthquake North Carolina "It is very important to realize that even though North Carolina and the east coast of the United States experiences occassional earthquakes, this area is not a seismically active area like California and the West Coast. In California there are many active faults where large, damaging earthquakes occur frequently. In contrast there are no active fault zones in North Carolina. Earthquakes are more frequent in the western part of our state, but statewide they are relatively small, random and scattered events." |

You state you don't live here, so why all the posts? bored? is myspace down tonight? There is no place that is a fit for everyone, and clearly living in the oldest mountain range on the continent ain't for you, and I'd help you pack but you said you already left. |

Asheville's mountains are beautiful and incredible - every time we drove up there, the first sight of them would take my breath away - they seem like beautiful, huge, slumbering creatures that are alive. They always feel so alive to me. Other mountain ranges I've seen are beautiful, but don't feel this alive - some of them just seem scary, or dead (California) or dangerous (Rockies)
I think a troll was bored tonight and decided to stir the pot a little on this forum. I also think those were just stock pictures taken off the web -I think I recognized a few. |
