Hope you have big bucks

It is a gorgeous area - one place in particular I know of sits high above it with a fantastic view down at the lake, but lots start at around $100,000.

It's a great place to get away; I've been there several times on vacation. The Hickory Nut Gorge (Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Bat Cave area) is one of the most beautiful spots in the state, no doubt about that. As for living there, yeah, you'll need a lot of $$$.

Sorry meajor, you most likely would find nothing there in that price range. You should check with a local realtor there though, maybe there would be things in the general area without views that would be. It is a BEAUTIFUL area!

Those are two entirely different areas! What are your criteria for the place you move to? Do you need to find a job or not?

Why not check out Lake Hickory in Hickory? It still has affordable areas and is in a nice location. Here is a realtor site you can just look at to get an idea of what it is like: www.lakehickoryrealty.com/areainfo.htm

I heard about lake lure and heard it was beautiful. I'm a little torn I like the idea of Mooresville because my family loves race cars and I'm from a racing family but I don't want to surrender country living I grew up on an island in MA and I love being somewhat secluded yet i do have a five year old who I want to be able to have neighborhood friends. thank you for all of your help i really appreciate it. no on e in my family has ever left MA so this is very new for me. thank you melissa
