We are down in Hendersonville, but whenever we have company come to town, a trip to the Rocky Broad River on the way to Chimney Rock is always a "must do". This past weekend, my sister brought her kids up from FL and we spent a good 3 hours playing in the river. The younger ones did not swim, but they built dams and hiked over the rocks. The older boys had a great time in the water, but came out sssssshhhhhiiiivvvveeeerrrrriiiinnnnggg!
Jump Off Rock is also free and has a couple of easy hikes and one "heavy breather"...LOL! I call it that because my out-of-shape body emerged from that particular trail, breathing heavy! LOL!
