Default Any Asian Population in Asheville?

I don't believe Asians have migrated to the South much, but I don't know. Any chance of getting vietnamese food? I assume there would at least one chinese place, but probably more of the greasy americanized variety. I don't know if I can convince the little lady of move if there are not any other asians around.

The Asian population of Asheville is around 1% of the total population.

Well, in Charlotte we have a large Asian population. If you are ever this way find South Blvd and eat at PHO 98 - excellent Vietnamese food!

There are quite a few nice Asian restaurants in Asheville. Wasabi is great for sushi downtown. The same family that owns Wasabi owns two other downtown Asian restaurants, all within a block or two. These are not of the americanized variety. They also own Ichiban in Biltmore Village, which is a traditional Japanese steakhouse. I think Asheville has three or four of these types of steakhouses, a large number for a city this size. Not much of an Asian population here though.

There used to be a vietnamese restaurant downtown but it closed. There are 4 thai restaurants & sushi restaurants galore. I haven't really found any really great chinese restaurant though. I don't think there is a very sizable asian population in asheville. It would be nice if this place was more diverse.
