Default Murphy NC

Anyone know about the development just east of Murphy NC on hwy 64 named Fall Branch Estates. Looks like a very nice location with property lots offering great mountain views. However, the development seems as though it is dormant. But roads and utilities are in and a few homes. Any info on it or the developer is appreciated.

Is this part of the Ridges? If it is STAY AWAY!!!!! They have had nothing but problems there, they can't get septic permits, the area is too rocky. They were trying at one point to tie into the hospital sewer system, but that has been denied repeatedly. People bought lots in that area and were promised numerous things, now they can't even sell them for what they paid for the land. If you'd like more details, don't hesitate to ask, but seriously, there are soooo many better subdivisions / areas that would be a better place for you to spend your money.

Just got back from Murphy yesterday finalizing our lott. Don't know anything about Fall Branch Estate but our realtor has been "extremely" helpful and patient.
Contact Charlotte Smith with McNabb Properties at 828-837-6611 and see if she can help you with all your questions. She was recommended to us by friends of ours who purchased in Murphy 7 yrs ago. Good Luck!!

There's a real good reason to buy land with a house, and not just think you can buy any old piece of land thinking you can put a house on it. Well, septic, access and how the land lays is more important than making sure you get that "layered" mountain view.

I have discovered that the developers of Fall Branch are gaining city approval for sewer and water. The sewer lift station located at the hospital, that was apparently an obstacle to continue with the development, has been resolved with the developer paying for the upgrade. The developer is in the process of measuring for replacement of the underground utilities, repaving-paving roads and improving the water pump capacity to bring water to the tank on the ridge. Sounds as though Fall Branch may be finally on track. I suspect many owners have been more than patient, but for those that waited it out may find it was well worth it....I for one will be looking at lots for sale in Fall Branch once its official that the water and sewer is coming into the property. Where can you find a mountain community with ungrounded utilities, water and sewer with paved roads? Not to mention the tie in with the Ridges amenities? Here is the web site I found for Ridges with Fall Branch included.

If you are looking for information on this development you can request it on ridgeslife.com in the Fall Branch Estates section. The email link will direct you to me Kurtis Miller in The Ridges real estate office. We have had problem getting the permits needed but we are working hard to resolve these problems. We will have an up date real soon!

The area where that "estate" is, is quite extrodinary, it may even get better with the new highway being constructed, which will move the majority for Murphy to Hayesville Traffic away from River Road.

We purchased a lot last year in Deer Valley (Clay County near Hayesville on Old Highway 64) and are looking at a lot in Brasstown Heights (Cherokee County off Old Highway 64). Murphy is getting built up and these properties are only 15-20 minutes (casual driving) away from Murphy, hospital, Super walmart, etc.

Default Mountian Top Chalet, Brasstown Heights

A good friend and former co-worker of mine has just completed a custom built, mountain top chalet in the gated community of Brasstown Heights. This is the second home he has constructed on this mountain. If you want to get your socks knocked off with actual breathtaking photos from the homesite, go to: Moderator cut: removed
