Default Lounge/Bar in Asheville (for a post-wedding crowd)??

Hey all,

My wedding in Asheville is only two months away - I've gotten some great suggestions here and I am hoping CDF WNC can come through big again.

Our wedding will be early afternoon with our reception ending around 8-9pm, far too early to call it a night!

We were hoping to have a small after-gathering at a local bar/lounge (nothing formal, just show up at a place that can handle 30-40 people) and we assumed a hotel bar would be the best option.

So, we visited the Renaissance and Haywood Park hotels to check out their bars and were VERY disappointed with what we found - completely unsuitable for our needs. We checked the Crowne Plaza too but that's not much better.

My question is, is there ANYWHERE in or around Asheville that has a decent sized lounge/bar that a wedding crowd would work in? Irish pubs and dive beer joints probably wont work, but a restaurant with a large bar section perhaps, or another hotel bar we aren't thinking of?

Thanks so much!

I think the best lounge/bar for a group that size would be the upstairs lounge at Tressa's on Biltmore Avenue. You can reserve the space...and its a beautiful space. Hardwood floors, modern furniture, non-smoking (they allow smoking downstairs). I have been to after wedding party and it was great!!
