Andrews, NC
Can anyone tell me any information about Andrews, NC; mainly what the Cherokee County Schools are like, again, mainly Andrews Elementary and High School.
What are there winters like, and how much snow do they get.
Any other info that anyone thinks would be helpful to someone looking to move there.
Thank you.

Great Schools, new principals at AES and AHS. New Superintendent too.
Technology will be a focus from the sound of it.
But if you are looking for snow, you'll need to look elsewhere.Robbinsville is less than 30 minutes away and tends to get much more snow because of the change in elevation. No decent accumulations in Andrews in years. However the valley is the prettiest I have ever seen. Mountains totally surround the town.
What line of work are you in? Several manufacturing plants have closed over the last several years and small town revitalization efforts are focusing on maintaining a viable mainstreet community. We are anxiously awaiting the opening of a bookstore and coffee shop. There are a lot of talented artists in the area.

Thanks, we really don't want a lot of snow, actually for me, if it never snowed, that would be ok.
My husband is in construction, he can do just about everything and anything. Right now, I'm a stay at home mom, but I have experience in the legal and administrative/clerical field.

There is absolutely no construction work in Cherokee County.Andrews gets a little more snow than Murphy, but still isn't much. If you are looking at resale value, then Murphy / Brasstown / Hayesville are your better bets.

Andrews, NC
So you are moving to Andrews? When are you coming? Where are you moving from? In my opinion, the schools there are ok, but the ones in Murphy and Hayseville are the better ones.
The economy is very depressed here. The employment rate is about 14% in Cherokee county, of which Andrews is in. And worst of all, no fast internet to speak of!! lol
As far as snow goes, average is about 2-3' two or three times a yr. Not much to worry about.
