Post PISGAH forest

Hello ; a new kid on the block , looking for some feed back.
My intent on moving to WNC is comming down to the wire.
I have been to many cities and towns over the past 12 mo; from Burnsville to Black Mt, to Flecher, Franklin to Maggie Valley to Waynesville .the list goes on.
The more I search the more confusing and the more indeshion
It is all great ; the people of WNC are great;; now Pisgah forest and sourounding has caught my attention.
So now comes the time that I reach out for feed back/ and recomendations / good or bad.
I am a New Englander S/60 good health semi retired; athletic and woodsey lol lol, The city of Asheville is nice , but not wanting to be in the city.
Any feed back would be very welcome either to buy; or rent for a year untill i settell in
Thanks Ody

The Pisgah Forest is perfect for an athletic, woodsy person. Lots of hiking. And my suggestion for a good area to settle in would be the Mills River, Horseshoe, Etowah area. You're not in a "city", but yet you're close enough to Asheville for the times went you want or need to be. And you're within 15-20 minutes of oodles of hiking trails in the Pisgah Forest, via Hwy 280 to 276. Lots of homes for sale in that area too.
