Default Moving To Asheville from Charlotte have a few questions...

I just finished high school here in charlotte and I want to go to asheville and go to a trade school and work. Charlotte is way too big for me and I am up for a change of location. My questions are, what are the friendly parts of west asheville, i like how west asheville is more liberal but don't like the crime in the certin parts. I know all of west asheville isn't bad so someone fill me in on some good areas in w. asheville. I know not to live near pisgah view but not sure whats good and whats un-safe.

As far as jobs until I get out of school I am thinking anything like , gas station, grocery store, fast food place or whatever until I get out of school.

I am a computer builder and can trouble shoot any kind of software or hardware problems, and build custom made systems from scratch. That is my best skill as of now and I am wondering if there is a possiblity I could get a job working with computers? If I can't find a job working with computers is there a government office that will help me find a job?

What are the technical schools in the area. I have my diploma but didn't score good enough on SATs or have a good enough GPA to go to any big college but a technical school would be fine. Any Info on schools?

I am planning on renting a house when I first move in with a yard for my dog . where is the best place to search for rental houses? I can afford around 800 a month I'm thinking. Working full time I should be making 3-400 a week. My car is paied off and my mom is a car insurance agent and has that taken care of. My only expenses would be rent and cost of living - gas, food, etc.

Thanks in advance for all the advice.

Stay west of I240, as the area between I240 and the French Broad River is dominated by the drug activity and subsequent crimes from the very large Pisgah View public housing ghetto.

AB Tech community technical college is a really fair priced school a little south of downtown. I've only taken photography there but I thought it was a pretty safe & nice campus. They have tons of computer & trade classes.
I would search for rental houses near anywhere off Haywood Rd. in West Asheville & anywhere North of Downtown of in Asheville.
