Moving to Henderson County (section 8, real estate, rentals)

I am moving my family to Henderson County area in November. Looking for affordable 3 or more BR home. I am on section 8 waiting list and expect my voucher to come through maybe January. Meanwhile, I would like to rent a home and be able to stay in it when I get voucher. I prefer a home in the country.
I am disabled but don't need special accommodations. I love the area very much. We lived in Haywood County for 4 years and went home to Florida just in time to get hit by 3 hurricanes, then spent 18 months in 8' X 30" FEMA trailer before finding a house.
I AM SO READY TO COME HOME TO NC

Tish, I would keep your eyes peeled on craigslist. There seems to always be lots of rentals on there. Although, watch out, some of them might be bogus.

Check out the "I Wanna" listings. I think it may be www.iwanna.org, or IWANNA - Online Classified Newspaper | The home of fully free personal classified advertising | Real Estate, Antiques, Jobs, Employment, Houses, Cars, FREE CLASSIFIED ADS.. Search for it. That is the main classified listing for this area of WNC. They are in paper form in every gas station and have on-line listings, too. This is how I found my rental house when we first moved up there.

Thanks Halo_in_revers. Good idea. Also checking IWANNA, blueridgemama told me about. I remember that paper. Found a couple of leads. You guys are great.
