Default Relocating to Forest City

My wife and I will be relocating from Florida to Forest City soon and are in the process of looking for a rental house. The plan is to rent for 6 months and take time to find the perfect home, then buy.

Does anyone have any information about Shiloh Road? One house that we are looking at is on Shiloh.

Any suggestions on the best way for us to meet other couples, we are both 25.

Where is the closest body of water for swimming/ fishing/ boating, etc?

We have a Jack Russell Terrier that enjoys people/ dogs, are there any pet friendly parks around?

Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Mtnman is on a distinguished road
Hi Will,
Shiloh is a out in the country crossroads kind of community that Shiloh road runs through. I like the land out there. Some mountain views and rolling farmland. Close to Rutherfordton and Forest City.
Ways to meet other people. Church, community events, work, all the usual places.
The closest large body of water would be Lake Lure. There are many smaller ponds and lakes around for fishing.
There are parks in the county, I don't know the doggy rules for them at this moment.
Last and most important, have a job before you move here. We have had several large plant closings in the last year, and a lot of people can't find work of any kind.
If I can be of help with more info, or with your move, just let me know what you need.
MM
