That is not in the mountains...but at the bottom of the mountain in the foothills. Pretty area though and close to the mountains. If you want cooler weather...I would suggest moving to the mountains...higher in elevation. Good Luck!

I would just like to say i have been born and raised my WHOLE life in Mcdowell No we ant rude mean or unsocial we are very nice and very accepting to people moving in...we are a very small town but still we have a alsome and extreamly beautiful landscape
