That is because 60 - 70 illegals walked out when a neighboring plant was raided by INS and ICE. Yes criminal immigrants do take jobs that should go to citizens. The city kicked in to provide funds for temporary transportation so they could earn a paycheck and become self sufficient once their pay started coming in.

Default Sonopress

You have to be nuts to work there! The internal culture is just plain crazy and difficult to work with. Everyone tries to make sure that when things go wrong it's not their fault. Blame game big time. The parent company comes in and cleans house management wise about every three years. Think about it , how long will the replication industry be around? This is not a good place to work if you are looking for a good long term career. What talented people that they had are getting out as fast as they can!

I work for Arvato Digital Services and I am very happy with the company. I relocated from Raleigh to Weaverville a little over two years ago. The relocation package was excellent and the people I work with are great. The benefits offered to full time employees are also excellent. I realize that the DVD replication business will not be around forever, but this company has adapted well to industry changes, as they originally started out as a music cassette manufacturer. Arvato Digital Services is part of the Bertelsmann group a German company with very deep pockets. Arvato Digital Services recently purchased a competitor Zomax and is bringing business back to North Carolina which was previously being done in Mexico.

Default sono press in weaverville(Arvato Digital Services)

I was just wondering if anybody could give me the name and email address of a human resource person. I know I can get in as a temp, but i don't want to if i don't have to. I have a 4 year degree so I would think I would be able to get in direct.

Default Not the Worst

I'm working there now and am satisfied with the job. The hiring agency is international hiring technologies (IHT) and they are very strict about having a valid SSN. There were tons of illegals working there months ago but that was taken care of. The temp service is kind of slow to offer pay increases to match position increases. The best thing to do is apply knowing it will be a while till you are offered a permanent position, relax and don't take to much of the "minion" talk seriously, do your job and do it well. Just remember it is shift work repetative and gossipy. I like the 12 hour shifts it leaves time off during the week or open time for overtime. They provide services for over 10 large regular accounts and many independants.

Just want to clear up some incorrect details, Sonopress was not sold to an oversees company. Sonopress was part of Bertelsmann, a German Company. arvato is also part of Bertelsman, so pretty much they are the same company with a different name. The US presence has not only reamined but has grown to include locations in WI, Chicago, CA and SC. This is a great company to work for and if you had a good work ethic you will get noticed and you will move up in the company.
