Default Seriously considering Asheville

Hi! My husband and I are currently living in a Philadelphia suburb. We're looking to escape the harsh PA winters, but keep some history and culture in our environment. We've just about settled on Asheville. Does anyone have any info to share regarding good/bad neighborhoods and such?

We have 2 wonderfully friendly pit bulls that we could never part from, so we'd appreciate hearing about any breed specific legislation that might be coming to the area.

Also have an elderly family member who might move with us. Has anyone heard anything about Laurel Woods Apartments? Is there a long waiting list, or residency requirements?

We appreciate any and all sharings! Have a great day!

As far as pit bulls, there are no breed specific laws here. We have one purebred American Staffordshire and one half pit/half dalmatian. The area is very dog friendly and rarely do our boys get a second look, other than by people who have pits themselves.
