Default Murphy or Franklin

My husband is being transfered (he's a store manager) and we have the choice of either Franklin or Murphy. We know very little about either one. We have 4 kids, ages 13 yrs old and under. Which town has the better school districts? Which area has the best housing prices? My oldest daughter is apart of a dance company, is there a quality dance studio near by? My son is a competive gymnast, is there a gymnastics place that has a boys team close by? Also, 3 of my kids are bi-racial (half black) which area are they going to best received in? Thanks for your help. It's scary when your trying to decide what's the best move for your kids.

I dont know how many of your specific questions I can answer... But just my 2 cents, Murphy is much more the middle of nowhere, not that franklin is a city or anything but you can get to places like waynesville in about 40 minutes. Again not a huge area but probably more likely to have a dance studio or gymnastics than Murphy, which is 1 1/2 hours from waynesville. And you could always access Asheville in a little over and hour from franklin. Murphy is probably cheaper, as the franklin area has an influx of retirees and 2nd home owners from FL. Dont know specifics about the schools or the extra curicular activities. As far as the bi-racial, well it is the south, you will meet some people who dont even blink and others who wont even look, but I imagine you may run into that nearly everywhere. My experience in both places has been very friendly, hospitable people. I am not bi-racial so cannot specifically comment. Hope something in here helped you a little. Good luck

Maybe Franklin more things to do there Murphy is farther away but if you like a small town Murphy is small Franklin is bigger or go even smaller towns are Andrews and Marble which are close to Murphy
I don't know about Murphy or Franklin Schools but Andrews was a good school I went there years ago
As for more choices Choose Franklin
