Yea, the trees seem to be full steam ahead now, all of a sudden. I've noticed in the last couple of days a definite change from a couple days ago. This weekend should be pretty good. Next week and weekend should be peak.

You need to say 'where' the color is about to peak, as I'll assume you are in the high country, but if someone took your advise and came to Asheville or Hendersonville they would be disappointed as it is still very very green here.

Fall Color
The High Country is here in Watauga, Avery. Boone, Sugar Mtn. Grandfather Mtn. You can go to Ray's Weather Center where he has a link of color in the different areas of the mountains. He has also posted some beautiful pics. Go Appalachian! Homecoming Saturday.

Yes, I am in the High Country, 9 miles North of Boone. Nearing peak here in some pockets, some green in others.
There's the annual Oktoberfest event at Sugar Mountain this weekend, too. You can ride a lift up to the 5300' peak and get a good view of the colors. But I think there's a chance of rain tomorrow (Sat the 10th), so some of the colors might be obscured by the clouds. www.skisugar.com
