Going up to Asheville, NC week of November 9th - does anyone know if the leaf color will still be around or will I have missed it? Going to see the Biltmore - but what restaurants in town (a do not miss type of place) and places to stay with large dog appreciated.

November 9th will be too late as most of the leaves will be on the ground by then in Asheville. I remember last year around election time (early November) the leaves were at their peak here in the Piedmont Triad. But western NC gets their peak leaf color a week or so before we do, so I'd say the end of this month should be perfect for Fall colors in Asheville.

Head towards Lake Lure, we tend to peak between Halloween and Nov 15th since we are at a lower elevation.
