Default Marshall, NC

The wife and I are thinking about moving to Marshall NC. I will retire, she will continue to work as a nurse. We'd like several acres. We are quiet, private, outdoorsy people with lots of pets. We ride a Harley-Davidson. What's Marshall like? JM

SHHH - we don't want too many people to know about Marshall!! In 5-10 years Marshall will be a tourist destination - but on a small scale. There are art galleries, a really great coffeehouse/meeting place - Zuma Coffee. There is a book store opening soon - the Courthouse is a lovely centerpiece for the town which sits on the French Broad River but there are currently no restaurants or a boutique hotel in town - but I think it will come. We just purchased 15 acres on the side of a mountain 15 minutes outside of Marshall - we can't wait to build our dream cottage and live there full time - If you need a place to stay go to North Carolina Bed And Breakfast Inn Dog Friendly Lodging Asheville NC and stay with our friends Martha and Gary - they love pets and dogs are welcome to stay with their owners - the rooms are beyond beautiful - giant tub and king size beds - high ceilings and Martha makes a mean breakfast - 91 acres of paradise.

I just moved here from Houston Texas a few months back. And I love it! Yes I agree with Mountains-we do not want anyone knowing about Marshall.
