We are moving from Orange county Calif to Arden NC, any tips we can use. We purchased a home in Cotswalds (that's the housing track) and have no friends or family there. We are starting brand new. HELP...
You'll be fine. My husband and I moved here with no friends, no family and no jobs. We both took work that we normally wouldn't take but it got our foot in the door and we moved up from there. My suggestion would be to look for events, join groups or take classes in what interests you. Some of our closest friends we met shortly after moving here 18 years ago. Some we met through work, some through my hobby. It's fun settling in a new place. Everything starts new!
that is exactly what i want to do!!! Start new!! No one understands this, I am from generations in the the same town, and I don't like it!!! I would back pack around the world if I could, but don't think it would be too good for little kids. lol
I would love to hear how it is once you settle there. WE are taking a trip down the beginning of June!
Sometimes you just have to do it, and jump in with both feet!
Thank you all, but my real worry is my 17 soon to be 18 year old son. He is an avid BMX rider and I don't see much of that out there. I am afraid sitting idle might drive him to other things. So a great kid (lazy) but a good kid.
I think there is a BMX track in South Asheville. Not my sport. Sorry. If he can't BMX, trust me, off road biking, kayaking, hiking....the list goes on. He will not sit idle!
Also, there are tons of other sports for him to get into as well. Kayaking/water sports, snowboarding/skiing not too far, rock climbing and of course mountain biking.
