Default Safe, short-term apartments in Wichita?

Hey everyone,

I'll be living in Wichita for the summer (late May - early August), so I'll be needing a good short-term apartment. I'll be living by myself, with a small dog, so I want to make sure the area is safe. Does anyone know of any good apartments that fit my needs?

Thanks and any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I only know of places that do 6 months rent. My apt complex will allow you to cancel at anytime however you must pay 1 months extra rent. So if you live there for June July and August, you'd need to pay 4 months rent. They are safe and affordable however between deposits and the extra months rent, it might not be your best bet. I'd try your luck leasing from an individual. Look on craiglist. Also, I'd imagine you'd be able to find something around WSU since many students leave for the summer. However, be careful around WSU. I think there are some safe areas however it can get sketchy fast. You might tell us your budgest and any other preferences.

Thanks for the suggestion. I guess my budget is around $600, with an absolute max of $700. Have you heard anything about Pawnee Park Apartments or Silver Springs Apartments?

I live on the opposite side of town from Silver Springs apts. I mapped them out and that's not a bad area of town. However, even in good areas, some apartment complexes can be rough if not maintained. I think it's worth checking out because the general area is good. I think it's in a little bit better area than Pawnee Park. I think if you look both during the day and night, you'll know. Pawnee park is a little more of an older part of town. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

No, you were very helpful. Thank you!

So you would say that Pawnee Park isn't in such a good area? Do you know of any other furnished apartments in good areas?
