My husband is applying for management jobs at Wal-marts in Wichtia. We aren't from the area, so can anyone clue us in to which wal-marts are in parts of town with high-crime?

Thanks so much!

The Pawnee & Oliver location would be the one to avoid.

Also, avoid the Wal-Mart at E. Pawnee and S. Broadway. The crime rate in that immediate area is not too bad, but S. Broadway from downtown Wichita (specifically, E. Kellogg) to Pawnee is definitely on the rough side. Plus, the store itself is low in quality.

The Wal-Marts I would recommend include 28th St. N and N. Rock Rd. (across from Central Christian church), W. Kellogg and Dugan (which was my favorite when I was in Wichita), and 21st St. N and N Maize Rd (in New Market Square, which was one of my favorite areas in Wichita).

Woops. That's the one I was thinking of as there is no Wal-Mart at Pawnee and Oliver.

There is a Walmart in Derby just a few miles south of Wichita, and there is one on East Kellogg and Greenwhich. Both are good stores. W Kellogg and Dugan is pretty busy. Lot of people from the rural areas out west come to Wichita to shop at that walmart.

The east Kellogg (Kellogg and Greenwich) store is nice and it too is pretty busy as the people from outlying towns to the east of Wichita stop there alot.

I agree that the best one to go with would the East Kellogg store. That store is usually realy nice and clean. I wouldn't know about the Worst Walmart seeing how I'm never really in the Western park of town.

All the Wal-marts are fine except the Pawnee & Broadway location.
Once and a while i will use the term Pawnee & Broadway Wal-Mart shopper as an insult.

Well I've never lived in Wichita, but it seems like from watching the news that most of the crime occurs in the West side or the South side of town. I'm not familiar with that part of town, so all I have to go by is the news.
