-Didn't mean to get your hackles up. Sleeper cabs just aren't my thing, oil patch or not. I wish you and your DH the best. -Hope he makes lots of dough and doesn't get pinched by the DOT during one of those 90 hour weeks.

I promise you, my hackles arent even remotely up I thought we were just having a conversation...

So far as long weeks, it remains to be seen exactly which regs apply. A frind of ours works for the same company (since aug) and he said a lot of the time the time he's not even on the clock...legally, of course. He wouldn't know how to run an extra book, even if he wanted lol

Good
By "on the clock", do you mean paid time or logged time?

Logged. They're paid from the time they're dispatched to the time they finish their walk-around back at the yard.
Like I said, I'm not sure on the specifics and neither is DH. But he *does* know they won't make you to go over legal hrs...

I just figured this up, correct me if I'm doing this wrong: run hard for four 17.5hr days gives you your 70hrs. Shut down for 24 to reset your log. Run hard for four days again.
Do this cycle four times and you have 20days or, your three weeks on. 70x4=280. Divide that 280 by the three weeks and that's 93.3hrs....perfectly legal, even...

Hours-of-Service (HOS) Final Rule (December 2011) - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
These are the regs. Any deviation is a violation.
