Tried to look that up on rigzone but couldn't find it. Do you have a link?

Thanks, checked it out and actually responded to the ad when I saw that ad posting somewhere else but never heard back probably because they too are requiring at least a year plus experience which I don't have.

Although I do have a tanker endorsement, I haven't driven a semi for awhile now and when I did, I only did it for a very limited time. I would feel much safer in a straight truck, although, if they worked with me on the semi, I wouldn't mind. I also saw an electronic technician position but seems like they are looking for experience. It would be great if they had something like that and trained you on the job. I mentioned roustabout since I'm willing to start anywhere and work hard while making good money. I would also gain experience since I really don't have any experience in the field. Thanks again.
Both Schlumberger and Halliburton will put your through driving school to ensure you have the correct license and experience.

Schlumberger in Williston does all their hiring to SOS Staffing, I believe they actually have the old Schlumberger recruiter working for them now. They have an office here in Williston, when I worked for them a lot of the process was handled by the Salt Lake City office though it could have changed.

Thanks. I did see some entry level operator assistant position on Halliburton site in Odessa and submited my info for the position. Good to know that they will school you since it's not mentioned in the job postings.

Default Man Camps 2011

Wow! Company lodging has really came a long way since the early 80's. We had trailers some what like the ones in the video but they were right alongside the rig location for just the rig crews. We had a helicopter pad nearby for shuttling people, emergencies and rock/oil sample lab work.

Very nice setup if you're a single guy with no family. I would get pretty lonesome for my wife and kids after a few weeks but I guess thats what it takes to succeed if a person is gonna go to ND and work in the patch.

I'm impressed with the advancements and respect the companies seem to be showing for their employee's.

Good for everyone!

Just checked SOS Staffing - Williston. There is an opening for equipment operators in cementing, well stimulation etc which means it is most likely Schlumberger since the contact OSO office where you woul;d submit your info was Salt Lake City. They do train both operators and drivers in the way they want you to behave and function on/off site. These guys are a soild company with vast assets around the world.

Hit them up and get started on your career! Good luck to all!

Lisa, when you go through SOS staffing do you have to take those tests like English, Math and computer knowledge? My husband does not use a computer and although he speaks and reads english well(he's from Mexico) he is just so slow at that stuff. He did manage to pass the CDL permit test but when I set him up on comoputer to take practice tests he just took forever, ne knew the answers but couldn't manage to get accustomed to computer. If he had to take those I think he'd be ok but just curious if he has to.
