My husband, my three year old and I just moved to Williston. We are living in a camper trailer in the walmart parking lot because we can not find any where else to go. There is an rv camp ground that will be opening in December. But we do not know what to do untel then. Please help if you can. Thanks
Don't know if it would even be an option, but my family just moved to Osnabrock (5 hours east of williston) 3 months ago. My husband works in Williston. You are welcome to come by our house, eat a meal and shower anytime! I know it's a drive.......but wanted to offer it anyway. My husband does that drive every 2 weeks.
Generous offer but you may wake up to 25 vehicles in your front yard all looking for a shower and some wi-fi! OMG!! Be careful what you offer in circumstances like these.....

There is a radio station AM 660, they have a sell-n-trade hour during the week at 10:20am. I've heard people with camper spots, and rooms, and houses for rent in the area. They do have a web site that they put the people that call in, on there site. http://www.keyzradio.com/trading-post

It's 19 miles east of Williston on 1804. I've stayed there several times. Showers, electric, RV dump. Nice place right on lake and close to Williston.
UPDATE: Didn't realize original request was so old. Sorry But maybe someone else can use the info.
Just an update on the Lewis & Clark State Park info. I've been staying there for the last three nighs.
= Showers are closed for the season.
= Pit toilets.
= Wifi doesn't work for me.
= I don't know if the water remains on thru the worst of the winter (I don't think so) but it was still on yesterday.
= Quiet.
= Can be overcast in the park but sunny up on highway 1804.
= Largely empty at this time of year.
= ~20 miles from Williston so it's a bit of drive. And during heavy fog, quite fun.
= Rates are $10/nite for primitive & $18/nite for electric, etc.
Pretty soon a new Pilot Flying J will be open up north of Williston on 13 Mile Turn, a few miles past the Loves and the man camps. Showers and Laundry will be available, I think $10 for showers and $1 per machine wash/dry. Supposed to open up after Thanksgiving or so.

I drove past there today and judging by the amount of vehicles around the place, it looked like they were open for business.
Whats needed is private property where the owner rents spaces by the night, week, or month. Be aware, these people won't put up with any crap! You get drunk and rowdy once, and the police will escort you out of town. The average resident is already fed up with the oil field crowd, so tread easy, and be polite. Drunk and quiet might be ok, but get nasty once, and your job might go bye-bye. I tried to sleep in my ford escort once in williston, and the police woke me up, and made me move on. They were nice, but unequivocal. I had thirty seconds to move, or else. My labor pool friends said its the same out in the country. Local sheriffs will move you on, and even in remote locations. The locals are scared of oil field workers, so be aware!
