ND should see 1.0 million Barrels/day by the end of the year. This occurrence will likely occur four years ahead of when experts thought it would. 2014 could see Bakken approach 1.5 mbpd.

The increased efficiency with lesser rig count is truly breathtaking.

It's interesting to read the naysayers talk about the ramp in production as running out of steam.

( Ahem ); Output has increased almost 100%/year and already these rates of increase are coming down rapidly [blah] [blah] [blah] ...

Well, of course, as a percent, things are not showing the same numbers.

When the state increases production from 100k bb/day to 500k - that's a 500% ramp. When you go from there to a million that's "only" 100%. Things are petering out, I guess.

1 M bb/day puts ND as #20 in the world if it was a standalone country according to the world factbook.

2 M would bump it up to #15.

ND would be #1 in the country, but TX is ramping even more with a heck of a log bigger existing infrastructure.

Another interesting thing to see is that as more oil is pumped, recoverable reserves are growing even more.
