I agree - I see the quote as tongue in cheek statement made by working guys as kind of a joke.

I was impressed with the hospitality of the locals in Williston despite what they've gone thru and continue to endure.

I hope things level out to where housing prices become more reasonable and the town benefits greatly in the end run.

It's not just Williston. The locals in small towns all over the MonDak region have been wonderful, in my experience.
