Hey there!

I know this varies from area to area in each state, but has anyone been to/lived in some part of WI, and some part of NJ?

Can you tell me whether it's colder in WI winters than NJ winters? And is there more/less rainfall?

Thanks so much.

I've lived in Milwaukee for six years now, and I lived in central NJ for five years (1989-1994). Milwaukee is definitely colder during the fall and winter months, and it seems to me that Milwaukee also gets a bit more snow. However, it rained more in NJ; the summers there were hot and humid, and thundershowers were common. NJ had more of a "real" spring, but fall in NJ and WI is lovely (with my preference for fall colors/climate going to WI).

My husband is also from central NJ and my inlaws are still there. It is definatley colder here in the Milwaukee area in the fall, winter and spring. Gardening zones are a 4/5 here while in NJ I think they are a 6. We rarely get the huge storms that pile up lots of snow here, as there are no noreasters, but we do get a lot more days of a couple inches of snow at a time. In the winter here they almost never close school for snow and the kids go out for recess unless it drops below zero, which it does several times a winter. It is also much windier here and the temperatures can swing more drastically than they do in NJ. Over all thou I think you will find it only a bit more harsh than NJ.
