Great pictrues.
Josh I was just in your neck of the woods on friday and that construction in portage is just nuts. I took the detour on the way to baraboo but on the way back I took some side steet that came out just before the bridge. I really feel bad for the residents that have to deal with that daily.

These are our personal pictures, shot by us. They mean a little more than the ones on Google, at least to me.
Speaking only for my pictures, maybe they aren't as good as the ones on Google, but I took them. I know where I took the picture, what day, if I was on vacation, or just walking, and who I was with. Each picture brings back a memory of that day, that time in my life.
But we do have a couple of photographers here who's work I would put up against anything you can find on google.

Hot_Rod_Otis, I love them pictures. Is that one along the river off of Highway 35? Otis, I know you said where about your neck of the woods is once, I can't recall though? Is that near Augusta, WI?
Again Great Photos!
To the poster who said you can google pictures, your right you can. But if you want some pictures that were taken by people who just want to donate a picture then you should check out City Data photo thread. Our Wisconsin Photo Sticky is full of beautiful pictures.

Yea It is nuts, I hate it. I can't wait till it's all done. Our down town does need some new life though. I would like to ask you what is your view of Portage beings you don't come here much? I think it would be interesting to hear what others think about our town.

I guess it is ok. I go through portage about 3 or 4 times a year so I only see what is outside my car window. I do think that what I do see is some nice homes and some of the nice old store fronts. The road for downtown though has always been terrible. I couldn't see myself driving a camper or pulling a travel trailer through the narrow part waaay to cramped IMP. I have family in baraboo and grew up going to baraboo about every weekend so I would have to say that I prefer baraboo.

Actually I live not far from Arcadia, WI. The river pictures were taken near Alma and Fountain City, WI.
